August 27, 2014: Fox CT ‘s Mommy Minute Talks to Dr. Brown About Concussions
Recently, the way we view concussions and how we treat them has taken a turn. In light of several lawsuits in the NFL, concussions are now viewed much more seriously and Connecticut is at the forefront of new legislation involving concussions. Medical Director Doctor Tom Brown talks about it in this Medical Minute, and was also recently interviewed by FOX CT’s Sarah Cody, creator of the Mommy-Minute, who visited him at our sister center Doctors Express Urgent Care in West Hartford. Along with a local student athlete who suffered a concussion while playing hockey for the Hall High School & Conard High School girls ice hockey team in West Hartford. Dr. Tom Brown sat down with the family to discuss the head injury’s effect. Sarah Cody & the Mommy Minute CT team is helping educate the public on the new regulatory changes and requirements for concussions as student athletes, their parents and their coaches prepare for the fall season, prior to getting out on the field.
