Located 60 miles outside of New York City, Bethel, Connecticut is a town of around 18,000 residents. Bethel was first settled in about 1700. The town was named Bethel, or house of god, because of its centralization around the local church. in 1777, during the American Revolutionary Way, much of the towns records were burned by British soldiers during a raid on Danbury.
